Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], 23rd August, 2025: The official trailer of the upcoming Bengali drama film Kapal has been unveiled, offering a poignant first look at the emotionally charged story that will unfold on the big screen this September. Directed by Suvendu Ghosh and produced by Arryan Ghosh under the banner of SGF (Suvendu Ghosh Films), the film is slated for a theatrical release on 19th September 2025, with distribution by Piyali Films Kolkata.

Kapal tells the story of Kanai Majhi, a lower middle-class Toto driver living in a remote village. His life revolves around hard work and his family, until one day, everything changes – he wins a massive lottery. What follows is a chaotic chain of events as strangers, politicians, agents, and opportunists flood his once-peaceful life, threatening his values and the safety of his family.
